Welcome to the page for our Sunday service on October 11th 2020. Today we are delighted to welcome Helen Cameron, Northampton Methodist District Chair, who will be preaching for us. Today we’re trying to cover quite a lot. In our readings, we are looking at the gift of the Holy Spirit, both in Psalm 51 and John 14:15-31.
We will be meeting on The Emmanuel Group of Churches Facebook Page with the service stream beginning shortly before 10.30. Some people have reported problems with Facebook. Please make sure that when you find the service, you press play if nothing is happening on your screen or it appears frozen.
After the completion of the service, a video will appear below for you to watch back at your leisure.
It is also Safeguarding Sunday today, so Helen, along with Kris Hatherly, Safeguarding Co-ordinator for our Group of Churches will be sharing about the importance of the role we all have to play in keeping one another and ourselves safe and creating a good environment for people to worship, pray and learn together, safely. In the week of the publication of the IICSA report into safeguarding in the Church of England, it feels apt and important that we give Safeguarding priority today. We take seriously the importance of Safeguarding in our Group of Churches. We are also always striving to improve our practice to the best possible level. Kris will be sharing with you a new way she has devised to enable you to play your individual part.

We are delighted that there is a physically-gathered service taking place at Boothville today, our first service in a building since March. At present, only those who have previously been part of that congregation have been invited due to the constraints we face with the capacity of the hall. This service is a one-off ‘test event’ for now. We will review it in the coming week and hope to be able to announce future services, both in Boothville and Emmanuel in due course.
Have a great Sunday!
