Welcome to our page collecting the elements of our Sunday worship for Pentecost, May 31st 2020. Here you should find everything you need to join in the service with us. This morning we’ll be sharing in Communion together, so if you’d like to join in with that element of the service, do have some bread and wine or juice with you. The service will take place on the Emmanuel Facebook page. We will start the stream at around 10.25 to give people a chance to find it and get settled. It will be on YouTube and the sermon will be podcasted, along with all the other things that happen after services now (!) shortly after the service has concluded, so that those who aren’t able to join us live can catch up later.
As promised, here is the video of today’s service
Here is an Order of Service for today’s service
James Fearnley and several other people have prepared elements for today’s service. Thank you to everyone who wrote prayers.
We will end the service today sharing in the Makaton UK Blessing together. If you want to watch the video so that you can learn the signs and join in from home, you can find it by searching ‘Makaton UK Blessing’ on YouTube.
Krissy Cressey has again prepared a craft activity for us along with some questions for discussion. Here is the Craft Activity video
and here are the discussion questions
The notes from Haydon’s talk are here
The video he mentioned featuring his discussion with Kate Middleton from The Mind and Soul Foundation is below. Mind and Soul provide excellent resources about mental wellbeing all the time, but especially at the moment. Thanks to Kate for taking the time to talk to Haydon (and put up with his questions and interjections).
Here is Archdeacon Richard’s excellent Thought From His Boiler Room from Thursday, which speaks very much to our themes of prayer and hope in the life of the Spirit.
