Today marks the beginning of the annual Week of Prayer For Christian Unity. Jesus prayed that his followers ‘would be one, Father, as you and I are one’ and it is incredibly important for our life and work as Christians to work together with other Christians and Christian Churches as much as we possibly can. We are united in the good news. So much more unites us than divides us.
Chris Pearson has put together the following document from materials provided by Churches Together in Britain and Ireland to encourage and guide our prayers this week. We will be gathering on Monday (this evening) at 7.30 on Zoom and Wednesday at 7PM in our usual Facebook Midweek Prayer time, to pray, during which times Unity will be one of our key focuses.
You can also watch a short video from Stuart Jenkins, in which he explains the importance of unity and working together across denominations (ecumenism)
