We’re so grateful for the support of various funders who have helped us through this difficult season. Locally, the support of Northamptonshire Community Foundation has been exceptional.
We really appreciate the grant for core costs from Constance Travis Charitable Trust; the grant from Avon for resources to support children who have experienced domestic abuse, and for several NCF Recovery grants to help us through the pandemic.
Northamptonshire Community Foundation has also kindly supported Weston Favell Centre Food Bank, including the Food for Families scheme, the Constance Travis Endowment Fund, the Lieutenancy Emergency Fund, and NCF’s Recovery Fund. They have helped us to tackle poverty, and to make a difference in our community, helping many individuals and families in challenging times. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Writing about how Northamptonshire Community Foundation has specifically supported his work, Paul Foster our Community Care Co-ordinator says
‘The Community Foundation have supported me and the holiday hunger project called FISH (Food and Fun In School Holidays). We run FISH in partnership with Growing Together Northampton and Blackthorn Primary School.
FISH provides food and entertainment to families. We run FISH one day each week of the school holidays for two hours.
FISH has been running since October 2017 and NCF have funded the project since day one.
We have run FISH 22 times since we started and we have fed 1360 children and 450 adults. We feed both children and adults as we know adults go without food as well as the children.
Beyond FISH, I am an active member of their ‘end hunger’ meetings and attend the training they provide.’
